“This was a really well organised hike along the levada trails. It was quite high in places and paths a bit narrow. Would recommend taking walking poles especially if you struggle with heights, as I do. Also really wish I had a head torch for the long tunnel you have to walk through, both there and back. Mobile phone torch hard to rely on as you need both hands to help you balance over a few deep puddles! Paolo, our guide, was wonderful - very informative and knowledgeable. Felt really safe, not sure I would have done the trails solo as met a couple of people who had got lost…”
